TROOPS OF OPERATION SAFE HAVEN FOIL ATTACK ON TEEGBE VILLAGE, NEUTRALISE ARMED ROBBERS IN PLATEAU

Troops of Operation SAFE HAVEN (OPSH) have successfully foiled a criminal attack on Teegbe village in Bassa Local Government Area (LGA) of Plateau State. The attack, which occurred on 23 April 2025, was met with swift and decisive response from troops following a distress call from a resident. The soldiers rapidly mobilised to the scene, engaged the assailants—who fled toward an adjoining high ground—and neutralised one of the attackers during a gun duel. Further follow-up operations led to the arrest of two individuals who are currently undergoing interrogation.

In a separate operation on 22 April 2025, troops of Sector 2 OPSH conducted a stop-and-search exercise along the Katnan–Buratali road in Kadarko District, Wase LGA of Plateau State. During the operation, three suspected armed robbers were apprehended in possession of a fabricated pistol. The suspects were taken into custody for interrogation, during which they confessed to being part of a larger criminal gang.

Following their confession, the suspects volunteered to lead the troops to their hideout to recover more weapons and apprehend other gang members. However, during the operation, the suspects attempted to disarm the troops in an effort to escape and were subsequently neutralised.

Operation SAFE HAVEN reaffirms its commitment to employing every legitimate means to protect law-abiding residents within the Joint Operations Area from criminal elements and the destruction of lives and property.
