Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi to Visit Nigeria and Three Other African Nations
Nigeria, alongside Namibia, the Republic of the Congo, and Chad, will host Wang Yi, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Chinese Foreign Minister, this month.
The visits, part of Wang's annual diplomatic routine, are scheduled to take place from January 5 to January 11, 2025, according to a statement by Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning on Friday.
Mao noted that the visits were arranged at the invitation of the respective countries and highlighted the significance of this tradition. "This marks the 35th consecutive year that the Chinese foreign minister's first overseas trip of the year will be to Africa," she said.
