NIGERIA AT 60: QUEEN OF ENGLAND SENDS CONGRATULATORY MESSAGE TO PRESIDENT BUHARI

The Queen of England has sent a congratulatory message to President Muhammadu Buhari as Nigeria celebrates 60 years of independence.

Femi Adesina, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday.

Elizabeth II, the longest-reigning monarch in British history, was Queen in Nigeria from 1960 to 1963 when Nigeria was an independent constitutional monarchy.

“It gives me great pleasure to offer my warmest congratulations on the 60th anniversary of Nigeria’s Independence, together with my best wishes for your country’s continued happiness & prosperity,” Adesina quoted the Queen of England.
