ABIA STATE INTERCEPTS CEMENT TRUCK TRANSPORTING PEOPLE FROM NORTHERN NIGERIA
Abia state has intercepted a cement truck transporting people from Northern Nigeria.
The Hon. Commissioner for Homeland Security Prince Dan Okoli and his team caught the truck and stopped it from gaining access into the state through Umunnochi and Ikwuano entry points.
Chigozie Onyeukwu Ubani, the Senior Special Assistant To the Abia State Governor on Homeland Security, disclosed this in a statement released to the public.
Ubani further clarified that the state is not denying the commuters entry into the state because they are non-indigenes, but because they "are being contravened for violating the Federal and State Government's orders on Interstate Travels at this period.
All state governors have banned interstate travels to help curb the rapid spread of the Coronavirus pandemic.
"We repeat that we are not at war or exhibiting any form of hostility against our neighbours; either from the North or South."
