AGAIN, BANDITS STRIKE IN KATSINA COMMUNITY, KILL SIX, ABDUCT SEVEN
Heavily armed bandits have killed about six persons, left several others with gun injuries, and abducted another seven persons in the fresh attack they launched on Sayaya village, Matazu LGA, Katsina State.
The information available indicates that the bandits on 6th November 2023 at night invaded the village and went straight to Maulud venue where a certain celebration was ongoing, surrounded the venue and started shooting sporadically to scare the residents. Then, shot at the guests, injuring many and abducting about seven others.
However, the six that were killed were from different communities; Rugar Kusa community, Gidan Malamai, and Yar Unguwa of Musawa and Matazu LGAs. The wounded victims were quickly rushed to the Musawa General Hospital and the Federal Teaching Hospital, Katsina for immediate treatment.
Upon the arrival of security forces to the scene, the bandits have retired into several forests which they use as their hideouts.
