Anambra Police Arrest Suspect with Human Part, Rescue Kidnapped Driver, Recover Suspected Stolen Vehicle

The Anambra State Police Command has recorded multiple breakthroughs in its ongoing efforts to combat crime across the state.

In a statement on Sunday, July 6, 2025, the Command confirmed the arrest of a 25-year-old male suspect, Samuel Eze, found in possession of a human breast. The discovery was made on July 6 by a joint patrol team comprising officers from Awada Police Division and Anambra Vigilante operatives along Jude Onyekwere Street, Awada, Obosi. The recovered body part has been deposited in the morgue for preservation, while investigations and necessary legal processes are underway.

In a separate incident, police operatives from the Rapid Response Squad, acting on credible intelligence, rescued a kidnapped driver and recovered a truck loaded with custard powder worth N9.5 million. The operation took place at approximately 12:45 p.m. on July 4, 2025.

Three suspects linked to the crime — Udegenyi Ugochukwu (38), Anayochukwu Okonkwo (47), and Good Odigili (47) — were arrested. The suspects reportedly confessed to abducting the driver, tying him up in a bush, and diverting the truck to Enugwu Ukwu, instead of its intended delivery point at a warehouse in Asaba, Delta State.

Meanwhile, the Command also recovered a suspected stolen, abandoned vehicle along Okpuno-Umuota Village Road in Obosi on July 5. The Toyota Sienna, customised with "Forum of Accountants Delta State" written on its body and bearing registration number 736 JP, was discovered by operatives from Obosi Division during routine patrol.

The Anambra State Police Command has urged any individual or group seeking to claim the recovered vehicle to present valid proof of ownership for verification.

The Command reiterated its commitment to public safety, assuring residents that joint security operations involving the Police, military, Civil Defence, DSS, Immigration, and vigilante groups will be sustained across the state.
