ATTACK ON MY CONVOY WAS AN ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT – ONDO PDP CANDIDATE, EYITAYO JEGEDE
Eyitayo Jegede, gubernatorial candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has said the attack on his convoy is an assassination attempt.
Jegede and his convoy were attacked by armed thugs in Oba Akoko town on Wednesday, September 16, 2020.
The PDP candidate revealed this to journalists at his campaign office in Akure on Wednesday, September 16, 2020.
This development comes less than one month to the much anticipated Governorship election slated for October 10, 2020.
Jegede said his supporters were at the palace of the Oloba of Oba Akoko for a visit before their campaign when the hoodlums attacked them.

He said, “The attack on my convoy was an assassination attempt.
"Suddenly, we heard gun shots outside the palace of the Oloba of Oba Akoko which is close to the main road.
"There were gunshots fired at all of us within the vicinity of the palace by a hoard of thugs who were in the APC campaign vehicles with Governor Rotimi Akeredolu leading the entourage.”
He added that 15 vehicles in his convoy were destroyed while several people were also injured during the attack.
