EYITAYO JEGEDE WINS PDP PRIMARY ELECTION IN ONDO

Eyitayo Jegede has emerged the People's Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Ondo Gubernatorial election slated for October 10th after winning the party primary election on Wednesday, July 22nd, 2020.


Eyitayo Jegede is also the former Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in Ondo State.


Jegede defeated his oppositions by amassing 888 votes while the Deputy Governor of the State, Mr Agboola Ajayi, had 657 votes.


The PDP National Vice Chairman, Dr Eddy Olafeso, came third, with 175 votes.


The election was keenly contested among the eight aspirants of the party with about 2,111 delegates from the 18 Local Governments Areas of the State participating in the election.


Recall that Governor Rotimi Akeredolu won the APC Primaries on Tuesday, July 21st, 2020.
