GOVERNOR ROTIMI AKEREDOLU WINS APC PRIMARIES IN ONDO STATE

Governor Rotimi Akeredolu has clinched the ticket for the All Progressive Congress (APC) after winning the party primaries.


The Governor secured the highest votes in the election which took place at Dome in Akure on Monday, July 20th, 2020.


Yahaya Bello, Governor of Kogi State and chairman of the APC primary election committee, announced that out of the 12 aspirants who indicated interest in the election, three had stepped down for the Ondo State Governor.

Ife Oyedele, Abraham Olusegun and Jimi Odimayo were the aspirants who stepped down.


Before the commencement of the exercise, Nathaniel Adojutelegan, another aspirant, pulled out of the race.

Alex Kalejaiye, spokesman of the APC in Ondo, revealed 3,146 delegates drawn from the 203 wards across the state were eligible for the primaries.


The Gubernatorial elections in Ondo State is slated for October 10th, 2020.
