SECURITY AGENCIES REPEL BANDITS ATTACK ON KATSINA COMMUNITY, KILL FIVE
Katsina State police command in collaboration with the Nigerian army, on Tuesday, October 27, warded off an attack by bandits on revenge mission on Tsaskiya Community of Safana LGA of the State.
The operation was carried out following credible intelligence around 4 pm on Tuesday.
About 200 armed bandits stormed the community with sofisticated weapons such as General Purpose Machine Guns (GPMG) and AK 47 rifles, shooting sporadically, attacked the village through three entry security barricades.

Recall, on August 31, 2020, troops of Operation Sahel Sanity killed three bandits and arrested nine others in Katsina and Zamfara States.
In the Tuesday attack, the security agencies engaged the bandits in a fierce gun fight leading to the death of five suspected bandits, while others fled with gunshot wounds.
However, the assailants shot dead one Rabe Bala, 'M', aged 30yrs, a lunatic from the village.
The bandits while on their way out kidnapped three women who ran into a nearby bush path for safety.
According to a statement by Police Public Relations Officer of Katsina State, SP Gambo Isah, search parties are still combing the nearby bushes with a view to recover more dead bodies and also arrest the injured bandits.
