GUNMEN KILL 2 FRSC OFFICIALS, KIDNAP 10 IN NASSARAWA

Unknown gunmen, on Monday, September 14th, 2020, killed two and kidnapped ten officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), in Abuja.


Bisi Kazeem, FRSC spokesperson, confirmed the incident in a statement on Monday.


Kazeem revealed that 26 FRSC officials were travelling in two buses from the Sokoto and Kebbi command for a training programme at FRSC Academy, Udi, Abuja, when they were attacked by the assailants.


He said the incident happened at Udege junction, along Mararaban-Udege, Nasarawa State, around 8am this morning.


According to the FRSC spokesperson, one of the officers died during the attack while another officer died in the hospital.

He narrated that four officers sustained severe injuries, eight escaped unhurt, and ten were abducted by the gunmen.


Kazeem stated that the Corps Marshal, Boboye Oyeyemi, has immediately reported the incident to relevant authorities for quick rescue of the kidnapped officers.


He noted that investigations have commenced to ensure that the gunmen are arrested and brought to justice.
