BANDITS SET HOME OF ZAMFARA SPEAKER ABLAZE
Reports indicate that bandits have set the home of the Speaker of Zamfara State House of Assembly, Nasiru Muazu Magarya, and other residents ablaze in Zurmi Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The bandits invaded the community on Monday and set ablaze some houses including that of the speaker.
The number of casualties recorded cannot be ascertained as of the time of filing this report. However, security operatives arrested two suppliers of foodstuffs, petrol and other commodities to the bandits.
The two foodstuffs and petrol suppliers have been handed over to the police for further investigation and prosecution.
Confirming the incident on Monday, Chairman of the Committee on Security and Prosecution of Bandits in Zamfara State, Abdullahi Shinkafi, said the State Government plans to provide support and relief to the victims, and also deploy more security agents to the area.
