BREAKING: FOUR SENTENCED FOR ATTEMPTING TO ESCAPE WITH COVID-19 PATIENT FROM ISOLATION CENTRE IN ILORIN

A magistrate court has sentenced four persons in Ilorin for attempting to escape with a COVID-19 patient and violating the State's restriction of movement order. 


The COVID-19 patient identified as Kazeem Oladayo was said to be an interstate driver who came from Lagos to Ilorin. 


He was tested for coronavirus and was taken to Sobi isolation center in the State for proper treatment. 


The Four, AbdulGaniyu Sadiq, Abdullah Isiaka, Sodiq Hakeem, and Aremu Wasiu have been sentenced to 14 days self-isolation and charged to pay N20,000 fine each by the Chief Magistrate, Mr. Bio Solihu.

For proper monitoring and supervision, Solihu ordered the NSCDC officials who arrested the violators, to work hand in hand with the Correctional center and the State's COVID-19 Technical Committee. 


According to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), on 29th April, Kwara has recorded 11 coronavirus cases and 2 recoveries.
