In a press statement issued by the command's Public Relations Officer, Superintendent of Customs Saidu Nuruddeen, on behalf of the Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Dauda Chana, on October 23, 2024, it was stated that the seizures have been handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
According to the statement, "The Tramadol tablets, a controlled substance frequently misused in Nigeria, were formally handed over during a ceremony attended by top officials from both agencies. The seizure marks a significant step in the ongoing efforts to combat the trafficking of illicit drugs in the region."
The CAC stressed the importance of continued collaboration between security agencies in tackling the menace of drug trafficking.
