DELTA STATE POLICE COMMAND RESCUE KIDNAP VICTIMS, BURST CARJACKING SYNDICATE

The Delta State Police Command has rescued a kidnap victim identified as William Aduwoma. 


Mr. Aduwoma who was abducted on Saturday, March 27 at about 6 pm was rescued unhurt in the early hours of Tuesday following intelligence gathering and tireless effort by the Commissioner of police. 


DSP Bright Edafe, the Delta State Police spokesperson said the Divisional police officer in Ozoro led a team of policemen, local hunters, and vigilantes who combed the hooks and crannies of Arhade bush in search of the victim. 


Sensing that the police were closing in, the kidnappers hurriedly abandoned their victim at Ebendo a neighboring village to Arhade. 

The victim was rescued and presently receiving treatment in a private hospital.


Similarly, the Delta state police on Tuesday rescued a man kidnapped by a 7 man gang along Oboro road Bomadi.


On getting the distress call, the DPO mobilized a patrol team that gave the kidnappers a hot chase along Tuomo road off Bomadi town.


The police successfully rescued the victim identified as a 24-year-old man named Joshua Okorodas. One of the kidnappers identified as Mishael Itodi, 25 from Kaima/Agudama of Bayelsa State was arrested and the tricycle used for the operation was recovered.

A manhunt for the fleeing members of the gang is ongoing. 


On the same day, the Kwale Divisional patrol team intercepted a man with one cut to size gun and two live and 1 expanded cartridge. 

The suspect was intercepted during a stop and search routine check at about 10 pm. 

The suspect caught with a gun and live cartridges.


Serious investigation and interrogation are ongoing, according to police reports. 

In a related development, the Delta State Command on March 29 burst a syndicate that specialises in car theft and arrested one 41-year-old Michael Okotete of Estate Mashoro in Warri.

Eons Intelligence gathered that the arrested suspect who has confessed to participating in many operations with his gang members now at large also led operatives to one of his gang members who on sighting the policemen ran and abandoned a Toyota Corolla car with Reg. No. PTN 152 PIN.
