BALOTELLI SETS TO LEAVE BRESCIA AFTER MISSING TRAINING
Mario Balotelli’s time at French Club, Brescia, is set to come to an end, after he skipped training on a number of occasions, according to Italian newspaper, Gazzetta Dello Sport.
Reports indicate that a letter notifying Balotelli of his contract termination was sent to him by the Club’s agents earlier this week.
The Italian striker has missed several training sessions since Scudetto resumed contact training at the beginning of May.
However, the 29-year-old said he had been sick and would send medical proof to the club management.
Brescia Coach, Diego Lopez, told journalists in France that he was disappointed with the striker’s attitude.
Massimo Cellino, Brescia President, told reporters that Balotelli’s mind is no longer with the club.
“I love him and I was hoping that the air of home and the desire to get back into the national team would do him good. We are all disappointed,” Massimo Cellino told reporters.
Balotelli, who has 36 caps for Italy, joined Brescia last summer and has scored five goals in 19 appearances for the football club.
Brescia was bottom of the French Ligue 1 and nine points from safety when the season was suspended due to the Coronavirus pandemic in March.
