DESIST FROM BAD GANG'S, CULTISM- LAGOS STATE GOVERNMENT TO STUDENTS

The Lagos State Government has advised students across the state to shun bad gangs and cultism and exhibit diligence in their academics.

This was contained in a statement by the state Commissioner for Education, Mrs Folasade Adefisayo,  On Tuesday, during the monitoring and compliance exercise on school resumption for the second term across the state.

Adefisayo, who was represented by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Mr Abayomi Abolaji, said, “I admonish students to remain diligent in both academics and otherwise while shunning hooliganism and cultism. Students should pursue greatness, exhibit creativity and continue to maximise the use of digital learning toward surpassing the successes recorded in previous examinations.

“The state government has embarked on more than 1,400 initiatives in the education sector since assuming office in 2019. There has been the commissioning of the new technology-driven modular school at Vetland model junior secondary school, the launch of the Eko Excel digital learning initiative, the retraining of teachers, and the introduction of inclusive comprehensive school programmes for skills acquisition among others.”

Adefisayo also urged special needs students to focus on their studies and encouraged the teachers not to rest on their oars but to work hard to continue to guide the students appropriately.
