End of the Road for Ajaokuta Kidnappers: 10 Rescued, Four Arrested in Daring Operation

Operatives of the Nigerian Police, in collaboration with a private security firm engaged by the Kogi State Government, have arrested four suspected kidnappers and rescued 10 victims in Ajaokuta, Kogi State.

The development was disclosed on Tuesday in a statement by the state Commissioner for Information, Kingsley Fanwo, who lauded the security agencies for their swift and decisive action.

“The kidnappers, who had been terrorising the Ajaokuta area with crimes such as kidnapping, rape, and armed robbery, were apprehended following credible intelligence,” Fanwo stated.

He revealed that the state government had partnered with Base SAN Security Nigeria Limited, a licensed private security firm, to work alongside conventional security agencies to address rising criminal activities in the region.

The joint operation led to the rescue of 10 abducted victims and the arrest of the suspects, who are currently cooperating with investigators. Plans are underway to reunite the victims with their families.

Fanwo commended the professionalism displayed by the Kogi State Police Command and the private security outfit during the operation, attributing the success to the state government’s proactive security strategies under Governor Ododo’s administration.

“Governor Ododo is committed to ensuring Kogi remains one of the safest states in the country,” Fanwo said. “This breakthrough is a stern warning to criminal elements that the government will not relent in its fight against crime.”

The commissioner reaffirmed the government’s resolve to support security agencies in safeguarding lives and property, assuring residents of continued efforts to maintain peace across the state.
