EIGHT STAFF OF FMC ABEOKUTA TEST POSITIVE FOR CORONAVIRUS
Eight staff of the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Abeokuta, Ogun State, have tested positive for coronavirus.
The affected staff include medical doctors, nurses, and an administrative staff.
This was confirmed by Mr Segun Orisajo, Head, Public Relations and Information, FMC, Abeokuta.
Reports suggest that the eight staff recently had contact with a 2-year old toddler who had been infected with COVID-19 and was receiving treatment at the Centre's Isolation facility.

The COVID -19 positive status of the affected staff was detected during the round of contact tracing carried out by the hospital Infection Control Team.
Meanwhile, none of the staff has so far shown any symptoms of coronavirus.
According to the NCDC, as of June 27th, 2020, Ogun State has recorded 756 COVID-19 infections.
Of the 756 infections, 241 are active and are on admission, 498 discharges have been made, and 17 deaths have been recorded.
