#ENDSARS: YOUTHS THREATEN TO COMMENCE SECOND WAVE OF PROTESTS IN ABUJA AND LAGOS

Nigerian youths appear to be bracing up for a second wave of the #EndSARS protests on Monday, November 9 in some parts of Lagos and Abuja.

The planned protest is coming against the clampdown by the Government on prominent members of the #EndSARS movement, as their bank accounts were frozen by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) on Friday, November 6.

A federal high court sitting in Abuja, on Friday granted the request of the CBN to freeze the accounts of 19 individuals and a public affairs company linked to the #EndSARS protests.

The court order, addressed to the head offices of Access Bank, Fidelity Bank, First Bank Nigeria, Guaranty Trust Bank, United Bank of Africa, and Zenith Bank, directed the banks to freeze all transactions on the 20 accounts on the list for a period of 180 days pending the conclusion of investigation and inquiry currently being conducted by the CBN.

The court order infuriated the youths as they took to the social media to express their displeasure and proposed a second wave of the #EndSARS protests.

A twitter user @von_Bismack tweeted:"Second wave of #EndSARS protests start on Monday November 9, in front of CBN administrative quarters. Emefiele invited us and we would pay him the required visit."

Corroborating this, another user wrote: "Second wave of #EndSARS protests starts Monday 9th November 2020 , infront of CBN administrative quarters .Emefiele invited us all and we can’t turn down our elder . Please spread the word. #EnoughIsEnough"

"Godwin Emefiele has not been able to freeze inflation but is freezing the accounts of innocent citizens

Inflation everywhere, Does he even know the price of Onions right now?

Second massive #EndSARS protest wave coming,

 #EndBadGovernanceinNIGERIA," another user tweeted.

@TosinOlugbenga wrote: "There should be a coordinated PROTEST at CBN headquarters in Lagos and Abuja.

Since the government would use Prof Osinbajo to say sorry and use Godwin Emefiele to block accounts of peaceful #EndSARS protesters.

That's undemocratic.

Let the madness all begin."

Eons Intelligence earlier reported that the Lagos State Police Command has vowed to subsequently resist all forms of protest in the State.

The move by the force followed the recent violence across the country by hoodlums who hijacked the #EndSARS protest.

Recall that Lagos, in particular, suffered an unprecedented loss of lives and properties following a live video showing men in military uniform shooting at peaceful protesters at Lekki Toll Gate on October 20, 2020.

According to the Inspector General of Police, IGP Mohammed Adamu, 77 persons died in the violence including 22 policemen.
