German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier Meets with President Tinubu at State House

Upon his arrival yesterday, German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier was welcomed at the presidential wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.

Steinmeier’s visit to Nigeria, scheduled to last until December 12, 2024, includes a range of engagements. He is set to meet with President Bola Tinubu and the President of the ECOWAS Commission, Alieu Omar Touray, among other key figures.

On Wednesday, Steinmeier was formally received by President Tinubu and participated in an inspection of the Guard of Honour.

Following his activities in Abuja, Steinmeier will travel to Lagos, where he will engage with business leaders, visit a start-up hub, and interact with prominent figures from Nigeria’s cultural and civil society sectors, such as Dr. Nike Okundaye and Prof. Wole Soyinka.

His itinerary in Lagos also includes a city tour, offering an opportunity to explore the urban dynamics of the megacity and gain insights into its environmental and social challenges.
