Troops Rescue 86 Kidnap Victims, Foil Terrorists’ Ambush, Arrest 29 Logistics Suppliers in Borno

Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), Joint Task Force North East, have achieved another major breakthrough in ongoing counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency operations in Borno State, rescuing 86 kidnapped victims, foiling an ambush, and arresting 29 terrorist logistics suppliers.

According to military sources, troops of the 135 Special Forces Battalion, under Sector 2 OPHK, on November 9, 2025, engaged Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists at Dutse Kura after receiving reports that the insurgents were abducting civilians and seizing vehicles along the Buratai–Kamuya Road.

The soldiers swiftly countered the attack, pursued the fleeing terrorists toward Mangari, and overpowered them during a follow-up encounter near a camp. The insurgents fled in disarray, leaving behind 11 makeshift structures, which were later destroyed.

A thorough search of the area led to the rescue of 86 abducted victims, including men, women, and children. Recovered items included one AK-47 rifle, five magazines containing 73 rounds, four PKT ammunition belts, five civilian vehicles, five motorcycles, eight bicycles, and two logistics tricycles.

In a related operation, troops stationed at Mangada intercepted and arrested 29 terrorist logistics suppliers en route to Chilaria. The suspects were found with two pickup vans and one tricycle loaded with about 1,000 litres of petrol, four gallons of engine oil, two new gun truck tyres, a large cache of medical supplies, and significant quantities of foodstuffs and provisions.

All operations were executed successfully without any casualties on the part of the troops.

The Military High Command commended the gallantry, vigilance, and professionalism of the troops and urged them to sustain their momentum in denying terrorists freedom of action across the North East theatre of operations.
