TENSION AS FULANI HERDSMEN ALLEGEDLY ATTACK OYO COMMUNITY, KILL TWO AND INJURE SEVERAL OTHERS

Assailants suspected to be Fulani Herdsmen on Friday allegedly attacked Konko Village, Ibarapa North Local Government Area of Oyo State, killing two persons and injuring several others in the process.

Sources say two of the victims were allegedly hacked to death by the herdsmen. A source told Eons Intelligence that the assailants beheaded one of the victims identified as Seun.

It was learnt that the attack allegedly happened after a notable Yoruba activist, Sunday Igboho, had gone to Igangan earlier on Friday to warn the Seriki Fulani, Saliu Kadri, who he accused of masterminding several attacks committed in the community.

The new Commissioner of Police in Oyo State, Mrs Ngozi Onadeko, is admonished to visit the community with a view of suppressing the growing tension and incessant killings that may escalate into communal clashes in the country.
