Troops arrest four suspected terrorists during operation in Sokoto
Troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA have arrested four suspected terrorists during a cordon-and-search operation conducted in Sabon Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the operation was carried out at about 10:10 a.m. on 27th July, 2026, by troops stationed at Ungwan Mailelle in collaboration with Community Guards.
The operation was launched following intelligence reports indicating the presence of suspected terrorist elements within Ungwan Mailelle village.
During the search operation, troops successfully apprehended four suspects without any confrontation. The arrested individuals were subsequently handed over to the 8 Military Intelligence Battalion (8 MIB) for further investigation and necessary action.
Security sources said the operation is part of ongoing intelligence-driven efforts under Operation FANSAN YAMMA aimed at identifying, disrupting and dismantling terrorist networks operating across communities in Sokoto State and the wider North-West region.
