GOVERNOR BABAGANA ZULUM SEALS OFF MOGCOLIS IDP CAMP IN BORNO, DISBURSES CASH TO IDPs IN BAMA, KONDUGA AND DAMBOA

Governor of Borno State, Babagana Zulum, has directed that the Mohammed Goni College of Islamic Studies (MOGCOLIS) Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camp be sealed off.




The Honorable Commissioner, Ministry of Reconstruction Rehabilitation and Resettlement (MRRR), Engr Mustapha Gubio, alongside the Honourable Commissioner Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Engr Bukar Talba, carried out the Governor's directive on Saturday May 29.



Recall, on May 28, Engr. Gubio commenced the relocation of IDPs camped in MOGCOLIS to Damasak and Auno communities as part of Governor Zulum's plans to close all IDP camps in Maiduguri.



After declaring MOGCOLIS IDP Camp closed, the Commissioners began the repatriation of 741 internally displaced Persons (IDPs) of Bama, Konduga and Damboa that were camped in NYSC Camp for over six (6) years .



Each of the returning households received the cash of one hundred thousand naira (100,000) as emergency relief fund to facilitate their returning back home and Communities that will have access to their only source of livelihoods which is Farming.
