GUNMEN ABDUCT FORMER BAUCHI LAWMAKER, ABDULMUMUNI NINGI

Reports indicate that unknown gunmen have abducted a former member of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Abdulmumuni Ningi.


Ningi, who represented Ningi/Warji Federal Constituency in the Bauchi State House of Assembly, was reportedly abducted around 8pm on Thursday night within Bauchi metropolis.


The State's Police PRO, Ahmed Wakili, confirming the abduction, said the former lawmaker was trailed by his abductors in a gold colour car.


He said; “Yes, a former member of the Bauchi State House of Assembly who represented Ningi Constituency was kidnapped on Thursday at about 8 pm within Bauchi metropolis.

“information has it that he was trailed by his abductors who were said to be four in number in a gold colour car with which they trailed him from where he was coming from to his house around the BSADP area at Isa Yuguda Guest House.”


The Police spokesperson said the abductors have not contacted Nengi's family for a ransom. How however noted that investigations are ongoing to arrest the assailants and also rescue the victim unharmed.


Wakili admonished residents of Bauchi to be security conscious, be vigilant and take note of vehicles and motorcycles that may be trailing them while driving.
