GUNMEN KIDNAP TWO MONARCHS IN TWO DIFFERENT IMO COMMUNITIES, SET THEIR PALACES ABLAZE

Gunmen have kidnapped two Monarchs from two different communities in Imo State, setting their palaces and vehicles ablaze.

This comes after Unknown gunmen killed Edwin Azike, the Traditional ruler of Atta Ancient Kingdom, in Njaba Local Government Area of Imo State, and dumped his corpse at the Market Square on Friday.

The affected Traditional Rulers were Acho Ndukwe of Amagu Ihube and Paul Ogbu of Ihitte Ihube, both in the Okigwe Local Government Area of the state.

There have been a myriad of attacks on Monarchs in the South-East in recent weeks. On Thursday, Eons Intelligence reported that Unknown Gunmen kidnapped Damian Nwaigwe, the Traditional Ruler of Mbutu Kingdom in Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State.

In October 2021, Eons Intelligence reported that IPOB militants set the palace of the traditional ruler of the Etekwuru community in the Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area of Imo State on fire. Also, his private car, a highlander jeep, and other property were razed during the attack.
