GUNMEN KILL IJAW SPOKESMAN IN COLD BLOOD IN DELTA STATE
Famous Belief Wonikiri, the National Spokesperson for the Ijaw Interest Advocate, was killed by unknown gunmen, on Monday evening, May 18, along Udu Road, Udo Local Government Area, Delta State.
The incident was confirmed by the National Coordinator of Ijaw Interest Advocate, Izanzan Camp, Yerinmene Salaco.
Salaco said the deceased and himself have been receiving threat calls from and text messages from unknown numbers.
He added that he cannot ascertain the identity of the culprits.
"I cannot say exactly if the people who killed him are armed robbers, assassins, or gunmen"
According to Salaco, the deceased wife said her husband was shot in the neck.
The deceased was taken to the an undisclosed morgue.
Salaco said the Police has been contacted to take up the issue and get to the root of the matter.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, DCP Onome Onovwakpoyeya who also confirmed the incident, said the deceased was shot because he resisted attack and his vehicle was taken away from him.
