TERRORISM: MINISTER TO SUE MEDIA OUTLETS FOR LINKING HIM TO BOKO HARAM
Nigeria's Minister of Communication and Digital Economy Isa Ali Pantami has threatened to sue major media outlets who falsely linked him to Boko Haram insurgents.
A media outlet on Monday published a false report stating that Pantami has been placed on the US terror watchlist for alleged ties with Boko Haram.
The media corroborated the story with an old video of Sheikh Pantami with Mohammed Yusuf, the founder of Boko Haram.
Other media outlets also published the news without proper Investigations.
However, upon proper investigation, Newswireng, one of the online media publications that republished the false story retracted the story after discovering that the story is untrue.

Responding to the false report, Sheikh Pantami in a statement on Monday stated that he would be pressing legal charges against major news media who published the untrue story for defamation of character.
