HOMICIDE: ONDO HIGH COURT SENTENCES PASTOR TO DEATH BY HANGING
A pastor in Ondo identified as Kolawole Samson has been sentenced to death by hanging in an Ondo State High Court for killing a certain Ayo Olaniyi.
The homicide took place in a village near Okiegbo area, in Ondo State.
It was gathered that Late Olaniyi alongside three others invaded Pastor Kolawole’s fish pond.
Kolawole was found guilty for hitting Olaniyi’s head with a cutlass which led to his death.
Prosecuting Counsel, Mr. Olusegun Akeredolu and Mrs. Omotola Ologun, argued that the offenses contrary to Section 316 and punishable under Section 319 of the Criminal Code, Cap 37, Laws of Ondo State (2006).
Mother of the Late Ayo Olaniyi was one of the witnesses called to testify during the trial.
However, Pastor Kolawole pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Pastor Kolawole was sentenced to death by hanging by Justice Ademola Bola.
