HOODLUMS KILL EBUBEAGU SECURITY PERSONNEL IN IVO LGA OF EBONYI
Reports indicate that hoodlums in Akaeze Community of Ivo LGA of Ebonyi State have killed an Ebubeagu security personnel.
It was gathered that the security personnel's killing is linked to the alleged murder of one Nnaogo Akpoke Anyim on January 18 by a team Ebubeagu operatives in Ivo LGA.
In a viral video that emerged online last week, the victim, who was said to have stolen a bamboo from the community, was tied and kept close to a security van while Ebubeagu operatives were seen beating and brutalising him.
Angered by this, youths in the area stormed the streets Sunday, expressing their displeasure by destroying property worth millions of Naira.
Sources say the hoodlums also razed the filling station of the Chairman of Ivo LGA, Chief Onyebuchi Ogbadu.
The military has been deployed to the area to restore calm and normalcy.
