INSURGENCY: OVER 1400 TERRORISTS KILLED - BURUTAI
The Chief of Army Staff, Lt General Tukur Yusuf Burutai said over 1,400 terrorists had been killed and 166 informants and couriers arrested during the military’s anti-insurgency operations in the northeast.
General Burutai disclosed this while briefing President Buhari in the company of the Chief of Staff to the President, Prof Ibrahim Gambari, at the Aso Villa in Abuja today.
Recall the Chief of Staff two months ago, relocated to Borno to personally supervise the anti-insurgency operations in the northeast.
The continuous bombardments of the terrorist camp seem to be yielding results as reports confirm that the Islamic insurgents’ activities have been greatly impeded because they have suffered a significant loss.
