KANO EXTENDS LOCKDOWN BY ONE WEEK

Kano State Government has announced the extension of the lockdown enforced on the State by President Buhari by one week to curtail the spread of the Coronavirus Pandemic.


Kano State Commissioner for Information, Mallam Muhammad Garba, made this known earlier today.

 

He said; “the decision was reached after due consultations with the Federal Government and key stakeholders in the health sector.”

 

Garba further stated; “the measure is aimed at further reducing the indiscriminate person to person contact which is considered as one of the major ways of the spread of the disease.”

 

According to the Nigeria centre for Disease Control, as at 11.30pm, May 11th 2020, kano has recorded 666 cases of Covid-19.


Of the 666 cases, 573 are on admission, 61 have been discharged and 32 deaths have been recorded.
