KANO STATE POLICE COMMAND HAS ARRESTED 259 SUSPECTS FOR VARIOUS CRIMES COMMITTED IN THE LAST SIX WEEKS - COMMISSIONER OF POLICE
The Kano State Commissioner of Police, CP Habu A. Sani, psc, on Wednesday, September 9th, 2020, said the Kano State Police Command has arrested 259 suspects for various crimes committed in the last six weeks within and outside the State.
He stated that this success was achieved as a result of community policing engagements, sustained Puff-Adder Operations, and other crime fighting strategies under the leadership and directives of the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, NPM, mni.
The arrested suspects include 45 armed robbers, 8 kidnappers, 8 drug dealers, 28 fraudsters, 146 thugs, and 35 persons involved in stealing cars, tricycles, and motorcycles.
The CP also revealed that the command rescued 9 victims from solitary confinement, and abduction.
Consequently, the Command also made the following recoveries in their success of arresting the 259 criminals;
i. Ten (10) Rifles including: One (1) AK-47 Rifle, Two (2) English Pistols, Four (4) Locally Made Guns, Three (3) Locally made Pistols and Seventy Nine (79) Live Ammunition and Cartridges.
ii. Thirteen (13) Motor Vehicles, Eight (8) Tricycles and Nine (9) Motorcycles.

iii. Nine Hundred and Fourteen (914) parcels of dried leaves suspected to be Indian Hemp weighing 548.4Kg and valued Four Million Five Hundred and Seventy Thousand Naira (N4,570,000).
iv. Three (3) Jerry Cans containing 25 litres each of Liquid substance suspected to be Suck & Die and Four (4) Cartons of Rubber Solution.
v. Two Hundred (200) Cartons of suspected fake COLDCAP drugs without NAFDAC Number valued Four Million Naira (N4,000,000.00).
vi. One Hundred and Fifty (150) Cartons of Expired Coca-Cola Drinks valued One Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira (N150,000).
vii. Eighty Two (82) bottles of Codeine Syrup valued One Hundred and Twenty Three Thousand Naira (N123,000.00).

viii. Eighty Four (84) assorted knives used by Thugs (‘Yan Daba).
ix. Seventy Three (73) GSM Handsets.
x. One (1) Point of Sale (POS) machine, Nine Hundred and Eighty Five (985) used MTN SIM Cards, Forty Six (46) 9-Mobile used SIM Cards, Sixteen (16) used Airtel SIM Cards and Seven (7) different ATM Cards.
xi. One Plasma TV Hisense Model valued Ninety Thousand Naira (N90,000.00), One (1) Laptop HP Model G7 valued One Hundred & Twenty Thousand Naira (N120,000.00), One (1) iphone 11 valued Three Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira (N350,000.00) and an 6x valued Eighty Five Thousand Naira (N85,000.00).
xii. One Thousand Nine Hundred and Fifty Eight (1958) Cartons of Dangote Branded Indomie Noodles meant for Benue State Palliative tagged CA-COVID-19 valued Four Million One Hundred and Eleven Thousand Eight Hundred Naira (N4,111,800) recovered out of 3850 Cartons diverted and sold out.
Habu A. Sani added that he is grateful to the Kano State Government and the residents of Kano for their prayers, support, encouragement, and cooperation.
