KATSINA TO BUILD 772-BED ISOLATION CENTRES
The Katsina State Government has said it is building isolation centres with a combined 772-bed capacity across the State.
Governor Aminu Masari made this announcement when he received three ambulances donated by BUA foundation to the State on Thursday.
“We have finished one of the centres and admission has started there. Rehabilitation and reconstruction of two others are in progress,’’ Masari said.
The Governor also appealed for assistance in the area of Hospital beds from corporate organisations for the isolation centres.
Governor Masari said; “I am making this special request so that we can get further assistance from organisations and individuals.’’
Earlier this month, the NCDC said it was in need of isolation centres and bed spaces to accommodate more COVID-19 patients.
According to the NCDC, Katsina has recorded 358 cases of COVID-19.
Of the 358 cases, 293 are active and on admission, 51 discharges have been made, and 14 deaths has been recorded.
