LAGOS SETS TO CLOSE MAJOR ROAD FOR 14 DAYS
Lagos State Government has announced plans to close down the State Island bound carriageway for 2 weeks as construction works shifts towards Oworonshoki in continuation of the ongoing maintenance and rehabilitation of the Third Mainland Bridge.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by the Federal Controller/Engineer's Representative of the Ministry of works and housing, Engr. Popoola J. O. on Thursday, January 7.
The statement noted that the road will be closed for two weeks starting from Wednesday January, 13 2021 to January 27, 2021, to enable the removal, replacement and casting "in place Joint 23 after the current diversion point, alongside the other two joints, 16 and 17 she is working on presently on the Lagos Island bound carriageway."
"After the casting of the three joints and asphalting, the whole lagos island bound carriageway will be opened to traffic," the statement added.
