MAN ARRAIGNED FOR RAPING HIS SIX-YEAR OLD DAUGHTER
A 41-year old man has been arraigned before a Magistrate court in Gombe for raping his 6-year old daughter.
It was gathered that the accused, Jafar Adamu, lured his daughter into an uncompleted building in his neighbourhood where he raped her.
According to the Police First Information Report (FIR), Jafar was arrested on August 31st when a passerby caught him while violating his daughter.
Sergeant Hassan Mohammed, Police Prosecutor, told the court that Jafar's offense was contrary to sections 283 and 390 of penal code law and is punishable under the same sections.
Jafar however denied the charge of rape and incest.
Hassan Ahmed, the court's presiding judge, adjourned the case to October 15, and ordered the accused to be remanded in prison custody.
