NAFDAC APPROVES OXFORD/ASTRAZENECA COVID-19 VACCINE FOR PUBLIC USE IN NIGERIA
The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has approved the Oxford/AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine for public use in Nigeria.
NAFDAC in a statement on Wednesday said it has evaluated the safety and efficacy of the vaccine and approves it for public use.
Recall that in January the Federal Government announced that Nigeria would receive 10 million doses of Coronavirus vaccines in March.
On November 20, 2020, AstraZeneca/Oxford said its COVID-19 vaccine was 90% effective against the COVID-19 disease.
As of February 18, the NCDC reports that Nigeria has recorded 149,369 COVID-19 infections and 1,787 fatalities.
