NDLEA Arrests Widow Using Fake Pregnancy to Traffic Cocaine in Lagos
Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested a 50-year-old widow and fashion designer, Mrs. Ifeoma Henrietta Ezewuike, for attempting to traffic 1.3 kilograms of cocaine disguised as a fake pregnancy.
Ezewuike, who runs Golden Star Creation, a fashion outfit in Okota, Lagos, was intercepted on Friday, August 22, 2025, at a Jibowu bus terminal in Yaba, while attempting to deliver the drugs to customers in Abuja. A follow-up search at her residence led to the recovery of 200 grams of a cutting agent used in cocaine production. She confessed to inheriting the illicit trade from her late husband, despite running a fashion business for over 20 years.
In a separate operation on Tuesday, August 19, NDLEA officers intercepted 90 parcels of “Loud” cannabis, weighing 48.6kg, concealed inside three cartons of kitchen sinks at a courier company in Lagos. The consignment, imported from the United States, was seized by the Directorate of Operation and General Investigation (DOGI).
