NIDCOM REACT TO VIRAL VIDEO OF NIGERIA MAN TORTURED IN PAKISTAN
The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission NIDCOM has reacted to the viral video of a Nigerian man who was tortured and threatened in Pakistan by two hoodlums suspected to be members of a drug cartel.
In the video, two Middle Eastern men are seen flogging an unidentified Nigerian man who had his hands tied to the back. The victim could be heard saying “I told my uncle to sell everything. My uncle said he would sell everything. Come and sell everything and pay Nurus. Anything you want to sell, sell everything and pay Nurus.”
“At the 10th of July I told him to pay, Andrew look at what you put me through, look at what you put your brother through? And you say I am your brother?”
One of the men pulled who had a gun aimed at the Nigerian man fired a shot but narrowly missed his head.
Reports claim the Andrew mentioned by the victim in the video used the man as collateral for a shady business deal.
Responding to the video, NIDCOM said on their official twitter handle that the incident would be investigated.
“Our attention has been drawn to this disturbing video of a Nigerian brutally beaten up and threatened to be killed by a Deadly Pakistani Gang after his brother ripped off the gang. We are escalating immediately to our mission in Islamabad, Pakistan for investigation.
We call on Nigeria Community in Pakistan to be calm as the Mission will investigate and revert. Thank you,” NIDCOM said in a tweet.
