Nigerian Army Storms Criminal Hideouts, Rescues Victims, Recovers Weapons and Stolen Cash

Troops of the Nigerian Army have recorded significant breakthroughs in ongoing operations against criminal elements across the country, rescuing victims, recovering weapons, and seizing stolen cash.

On 7 September 2025, troops of 4 Brigade stormed a suspected militant camp at Kokotoro along the Okomu Waterway in Edo State. During the raid, one suspect was arrested while a pump-action rifle with four live cartridges was recovered. The entire camp was subsequently destroyed.

In Taraba State, troops of Operation ENDURING PEACE intercepted two suspects at a checkpoint in Gashaka with N1 million in cash. One suspect escaped during interrogation, but preliminary investigations linked the money to a recent farm-related murder. The recovered cash and a motorcycle were secured, while efforts are ongoing to track down the fugitive.

Similarly, in Kaduna State, troops from FOB Sanga responded to a distress call following a kidnapping incident at Ungwan Bera village. On sighting the troops, the kidnappers abandoned their hostages and fled. Two injured victims and two children were rescued during the operation. The wounded were immediately evacuated for urgent medical treatment, while search-and-rescue efforts continue in the area.

The Nigerian Army reaffirmed its commitment to intensifying operations aimed at dismantling criminal networks and ensuring lasting peace and security nationwide.
