North Korea Condemns Trump’s Gaza Redevelopment Plan, Accuses U.S. of Hegemonic Ambitions
North Korean state media has strongly criticized U.S. President Donald Trump’s plan to redevelop the Gaza Strip, accusing Washington of attempting to take over the war-torn region and forcibly resettle its residents.
In a statement published Wednesday, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) slammed the proposal, calling it a “bomb declaration” that has sparked global outrage. Though KCNA did not mention Trump by name, the report directly criticized U.S. foreign policy and its alleged interference in other nations’ affairs.
North Korea Blasts U.S. “Hegemonic Ambitions”
“The U.S. should awaken from its anachronistic daydream and stop at once the act of encroaching upon the dignity and sovereignty of other countries and nations,” the report stated.
KCNA argued that Trump’s comments on Gaza reflect a broader U.S. ambition for world domination, citing his past proposals to make Canada the 51st U.S. state and to acquire Greenland as further evidence of American expansionism.
“The sovereignty, right to self-determination, and territorial integrity of countries and nations can never be a bargaining chip or a mockery of the U.S.,” the North Korean outlet declared.
Trump Doubles Down Despite International Backlash
Despite mounting criticism from the international community, Trump has continued to defend and reiterate his proposal to oversee Gaza’s reconstruction.
The United Nations has condemned any form of forced displacement, warning that such actions could constitute ethnic cleansing under international law.
