NPF ASSURES OF MAXIMUM SECURITY AT INDEPENDENCE CELEBRATIONS

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has assured Nigerians of maximum security during and after the events to mark the country's 61st Independence Anniversary on Friday, 1st October, 2021. 


This assurance was delivered by the Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba in Abuja today. He also stated that the Force has mapped out strategies to reduce crime and casualties to the barest minimum at this important time in the country's history.


The IGP also called on all for a renewed pan Nigerian spirit at times like these. He charged the Assistant Inspectors General of Police and Commissioners of Police in all the Zonal and State Commands and the FCT "To lead the Independence Anniversary security operations from the frontline" 


"They are to ensure high visibility and confidence boosting patrols around the venues of the celebrations, residential areas and other places of public resort to prevent any infiltration by hostile elements," he said.

The Police Chief also congratulated Mr President and Nigerians, both at home and in the diaspora on the occasion of the Independence Anniversary. He pledged the loyalty of the NPF to the unity and peace of Ngeria and adviced everyone to go about their legitimate businesses without apprehension. He also enjoined all citizens to keep co-operating with the Police in the fight against crime and criminal elements.
