NPF SUSPENDS POCACOV ACTIVITIES FOR COMPREHENSIVE REVIEW
The Nigeria Police Force has issued an immediate suspension of the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV), a community policing initiative and public relations tool within the Force Public Relations Department. This decision aims to conduct a thorough review of the unit, enhancing its efficiency and service delivery.
Recognizing the vital role of POCACOV in community engagement and combating social vices, the Force acknowledges the need to halt ongoing programs and outreaches led by the national coordinator, CSP Ebere Amarizu. This pause facilitates a comprehensive assessment and restructuring of the initiative across the six geopolitical zones, each with its respective coordinator. The temporary suspension is intended to realign POCACOV's strategies, ensuring they effectively address contemporary security challenges and serve Nigerian communities more efficiently than the current localized and ineffective campaigns.
Throughout this suspension period, the Nigeria Police Force reaffirms its unwavering commitment to safeguarding lives and property nationwide. The revitalization of POCACOV seeks to reinforce its role as a crucial community policing instrument, strengthening the bond between the Force and communities.
Updates on the resumption of POCACOV programs and outreach activities will be communicated to the public in due course. The Force remains dedicated to prioritizing safety, security, and community partnership.
