ONE DIE, THREE INJURED IN ROAD CRASH IN OGUN STATE
A truck carrying several containers has crushed a motorcyclist to death and injured three passengers in Sango Ota, Ogun State.
The accident which occurred around 3 pm yesterday at Oju-Ore road, involved a Man-Diesel truck with registration number XA733MGU, and a motorcycle with registration number TTN377WJ.
The spokesperson of the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps, Babatunde Akinbiyi, confirmed the incident yesterday in a statement made to newsmen.
Akinbiyi revealed that the accident occurred due to recklessness on the part of the motorcyclist, who carried two passengers.
The spokesperson said the three injured persons were the two passengers and a passerby.
"According to an eyewitness, the motorcycle rider rode dangerously as he was trying to overtake a truck on the same lane.
"As he tried to manoeuvre at a pothole, a passerby suddenly crossed the road, and while trying to avoid hitting him and at the same time avoiding a big pothole, ran across the truck which immediately ran over him," the spokesperson said.
He said the dead motorcyclist was taken to the morgue at the Ifo General Hospital.
