PANIC AS RESIDENTS RECEIVED LETTER FROM ARMED ROBBERS

Amid the lockdown order in Ogun State, following the spread of COVID-19 pandemic, residents of Denro-Ishashi in Akute, Ogun State are apprehensive over a handwritten note purportedly from Armed Robbers threatening to storm the area anytime soon. 


The gang who dub itself the “Champion Boys” warn the residence to prepare for their visit by making money and valuables ready as they will be raiding from house to house when they visit.


The letter which was written in Yoruba is translated thus:


“Warning, warming warning 


"Very important warning for people in Denro, Akute


“To the people of Denro, we are telling you that you should be expecting late night visitors, very soon and should keep our gift to entertain us, if not it will be a disaster.


“We know that you put you hope on security men to safeguard you but we are still coming


Warning, warning, warning.

The CDA in the area has commenced measures towards reinforcing the community security arrangements currently in place. On the other hand, the Divisonal Police Officer (DPO) of Ajuwon, SP Akinsete when contacted assured that he has mobilized 24 hours patrol of the area to assuage the fear of the residents. A team of Anti-Crime Patrol officers were seen in the area at the time of filling this report.
