POLICE ALLEGEDLY SHOOT 400-LEVEL PROTESTING STUDENT IN EDO
Security operatives on Thursday allegedly shot a 400-level protesting student in Benin city, Edo State.
A peaceful protest by angry students from Niger Delta states had ensued at the headquarters of the Nigeria Petroleum Development Company (NPDC) in Benin City, the Edo State capital, when security operatives allegedly opened fire on them.
Eons Intelligence gathered that a 400 level Mass Communication student of the University of Benin (UNIBEN), Miss Juliana Martins, was hit by a stray bullet in the leg and was immediately rushed to an undisclosed hospital for treatment.
The students were expressing their displeasure at the authorities of the Oil firm to fulfill their promise of procuring a laptop at a training workshop organized by the Petroleum Industrial Act (PIA), an event organized by the NPDC.
