POLICE ARREST 121 CULT MEMBERS IN PLATEAU, BENUE STATES
About 118 suspected cult members who gathered to celebrate the cult day have been arrested by the operatives of Plateau State Police Command.
The information available indicates that the youths suspected to be Aiye cult members gathered at different locations to mark their celebration day on 7th July 2024. It was also noted that some new members will be initiated and convenated to cultism activities, which may thereafter result in great bloodshed in different locations.
However, the police operatives swiftly took intelligence proactiveness in averting such illegal activities whereby the cult members were successfully arrested.
Similarly, on 7th July 2024, some other cult member of the same confraternity also gathered to mark their celebration day in Gboko, Benue State.
The police having received the information, mobilised to different locations with the help of the community youths and made a swift arrest of another three suspected members whereby others were dispersed from holding illegal activities.
Meanwhile, all the suspects are currently in police custody as the investigation to arrest other cult members is ongoing.
