POLICE ARREST 17 SUSPECTED CULTISTS IN THE FCT, RECOVER EXHIBITS AND AMMUNITION

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja Police Command has arrested 17 suspected cultists along Gwagwalada, Gwagwa, Lugbe and Kuruduma axis.


The suspects identified as Peter Ajari, 22, Jacob Terkaa, 27, Isiaka Abdulmalik, 19, Akadiri Ay, 23, NnamdiGeorge 23, Tony Enejo, 23, Abioze Samuel Cole, 35, Samuel Mbachongu, 29, Michael Malachi, 36, Mbani Chukwuebuka, 34, Monday Orgar, 24, Onyeaka Chinonye, 33, Christian Chidebere, 42, Chukwuebuka Onijbo, 24, Okife Zion, 23, Umoh Faith, 22, and Emmanuel Obinna, 31, were arrested by security personnel from the Command’s Anti-Cultism Unit during the coordinated raids and patrols between Monday 5th-Friday 9th April,2021. 


The suspects are members of Vikings and Aro Baga confraternities terrorizing Gwagwalada, Gwagwa, Lugbe and Kuruduma areas.


The Police also recovered several exhibits from them such as three locally made pistols, and two rounds of live ammunition, four cartridges, two knives chain, one axe, one cutlass, wraps of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp and charms.


In a statement by ASP Yusuf Mariam, the FCT Police PRO, the suspects would be arraigned in court upon conclusion of investigation.
