POLICE DEBUNKS REPORTS THAT THE LEKKI-IKOYI BRIDGE IS A KIDNAPPERS' DEN

The Lagos State Police command has debunked reports indicating that the Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge has become a kidnappers' den and a security threat to residents who live around the axis and commuters plying the route.

This comes after reports circulating on social media stated that the bridge has become a hotbed for criminal activities such as kidnapping and armed robbery.

In a statement by the State's Police PRO, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the command categorically said that there has been no kidnapping incident recorded on this axis.

It noted that the rumours are being peddled by mischief makers for reasons best known to them, emphasizing that the link bridge has always been armed with heavy security resources attached to the Ikoyi division.

The State's Police Commissioner, CP Hakeem Odumosu, pleaded with Lagosians to disregard the news and move freely on all roads in the State.

The Police boss has reiterated his commitment to completely ending all forms of criminality in the State. He however warned those spreading the fake news to desist from the act or face the wrath of the law.
